About Lucille Martin

LUCILLE MARTIN

Lucille Martin is an Australian Multi-disciplinary Artist working across digital Photography, iPhoneography textile and hand-making mediums transversing a passion for the natural and physical landscape and deep ecology. Her work reflects the significance and timing of current anthropogenic and climate focused events throughout the world, acting as a conduit to the audience through her poetic works formed within a creative practice of hand making materials, residencies, networks, and exhibitions.

“Her practice has steadfastly and successfully connected conceptual substance, production and presentation in the exploration of themes within solo, group and curatorial exhibitions, awards and residencies throughout Australia.” Paola Anselmi, Curator and Arts Advisor, 2021,

Education, research, and policy making are fundamental to her themes and methodology, which underpin a wholistic lifestyle and healthy curiosity to learn, share, and exchange knowledge with local and regional communities as a focus toward bi-lateral and symbiotic projects for the future. Martin’s early exhibition programs focused on Photo-documentation, Collage, and acrylic paintings alongside a thirst for knowledge via academic studies at AFTRS, majoring in Production design and in 1990 Master of Arts at UNSW, Sydney (UNSW), Majoring in 4D & Photography. These specialised additions to her material and conceptual skillset provided a synchronous opportunity in a multi-arts practice of Installation work for curatorial exhibitions and thematic multi-media installation projects in Australia, Japan, and New York.

Professionally Lucille trained as a graphic designer, majoring in fine art, where she was selected to Ogilvy & Mather Advertising, Sydney. Within 3 years her professional skills were commissioned in print publishing groups in Sydney freelancing for Vogue, Harpers, Marie Claire, Dolly, TV Soap, amongst others.

In 2023 she was nominated to CLIMARTE Board, (NFP) Australia and is active in promoting environmental awareness within her art practice. Lucille is based in Perth, and works between Melbourne, Sydney and Byron Bay, Australia                                   https://lucillemartin.com      https://climarte.org/about-us/
